This family property in the south of France is located on the borough of JEAN SAINT DE VALERISCLE in the Piémont Cévenole, on the edge of the Provence scrubland known as Garrigue.
The Mas de Valz is a typical residence of local “Cévenole” architecture: inside courtyards, galleries, arcades, arched areas. The beginning of its construction goes back to the 15th century. It shows many testimonials of its past links to successive agricultural activities, chestnuts, silkworms and olive-trees.
At the foot of the hills, in a preserved environment of 50 hectares of forest, one can benefit from the Garrigue landscape to the essence of oak trees and Mediterranean plants.
In the middle of the terraces of olive trees (some are several hundred years old) whose low walls are made out of dry stone, Le Mas and its overflow swimming pool are surrounded by cypress, mulberry trees, micocouliers and almond trees.
From the terraces of olive-trees one can admire the wonderful panorama which offers views on the Vercors buttresses and the Mont Ventoux.
